Homo Erectus (lived 1.6 million to 300,000 years ago)
Homo Erectus
The Next species is called "Homo Erectus"or also known as"upright man". The biggest different between Homo Habilis and Homo Erectus is that they had FIRE!!!Having fire is making their life a lot easier, they can stay worm in night time and keep wild animals away from them. So they can actually cook with fire. And if they can stay worm in night, they would be able to make tools at day time instead of hunt or find food to produce heat.Or they can even work at night because there's LIGHT.
Knowing how to fire can help them to move into different areas and survive in cold places. There are fossils of Homo Erectus found in Africa, Europe, Australia, Asia, China, and the Indonesian island of Java. Homo Erectus also made SHELTER.They usually live in a group of people(20-30).I think living with a lot of people is not always helpful. For example, they need to hunt more food for every body to eat.On the other hand, to less people is not good, too. If there's enough people, they can divid everybody into small groups and give them "jobs".For example, hunting, make tools, and gathering small food like berries.Homo Erectus had better ways to communicate than Homo Habilis. They combined simple words and gestures to talk with each other. They still didn't had any clothing.
